Just realised that the edit which prompted the previous post will be the last sport programme I do for a very long time. I’m halfway through a 12 month contract with Gaelic indie mneTV (who have a terrific logo, don’cha think?), but the remainder of the time will be devoted to a single programme. It’s an ob-doc, which typically take ages to film and edit, so that’s me accounted for until the end of March.
I’ve done some work on it already, but I was splitting my time between that and the weekly sport shows which have a conversely near-instant turnaround. But that’s it for sport until the next financial year.
I’ll miss it. Unless I’m editing it, I have no interest in sport. I tend to fall in love with whatever subject I’m editing, though, and cutting sport shows gave me an insight into that area of culture on which most of the species base their lives, particularly soccer. I even entertained the notion of become a card-carrying shinty fan, and saw a bit of my country travelling to games with Mo and Monty. But the motivation ebbed when I’d finished editing it, as I know it will with the other sports I chopped up for BBC Alba.
So, as Thribb would say, farewell then…
MNE are a riot eh fella.
For example who, I ask you, WHO is bloody watching a full 90 minute as live of Hibs V St Mirren 3 hours after the game has finished,……
in fucking GAELIC!!!!??????
No cunt. Thats who.
No cunt.
I did film a gaelic cookery show with them recently though in Stor No way for 8 days which was a lotta fun.
I got to eat the food that the gaelic chefs prepared.
Well me and the rest of the crew.
It was like a scene from a fresh kill on the serengeti at the end of the venison episode I can tell you.
mmmmmmmmmmm!
the memories.
Agreed – MNE have pathetic cam ops who can’t even do a MW shot of a game
Also have the most ridiculous inexperienced ops who before Tx love to film women – ive used a link from them for a backup at Hibs
MNE vs SIS LIVE – always SIS without a doubt
